A COMMUNITY group in Chesterfield has received a funding boost to deliver a programme encouraging more residents to get on their bikes.
Transition Chesterfield has received more than £7,500 from the Climate Friendly Communities Grant which will pay for Bikeability Training and cycle mechanic training in the community.
The project will run throughout the summer at various events across the town, and experts will also be on hand to offer cycle tips and advice.
Andy Holdaway, from the initiative, said: “We realise that many people are put off cycling due to a lack of confidence on the roads, we want to see cycling around Chesterfield become mainstream, and this project is just the start.”
