IT workers raised £8,000 for a charity working with underprivileged Sheffield youngsters by tackling Yorkshire’s highest hills.
The ‘Geeks on Peaks’ team, from HSBC bank, scaled Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside in aid of Endeavour, which provides classes for teenagers not in mainstream eduction or work from a centre on Grimesthorpe Road, Fir Vale.
Members of the charity joined the bank staff for the 24.5 mile expedition, which had to be completed in a day.
Jane Davidson, IT project manager for HSBC, said: “It was an immense personal challenge for some. We were really lucky with the weather.”
