RESIDENTS from different faiths came together for Sheffield’s seventh annual Peace Walk.
The group made their way from Al Rahman Mosque to Ghousia Mosque, in Burngreave, taking in numerous places of worship.
Abdool Gooljar, president of the Islamic Society of Britain’s South Yorkshire branch, said: “The walk made a bold statement, celebrating the diverse communities that live together in Sheffield and showing unity in opposition to the racist politics of the British National Party and English Defence League who seek to stir up hatred and division.
“It is wonderful to see people come together to deliver this important message.
“We must oppose those who threaten to divide us.”
