A WOMAN is being forced to pay back more than £46,000 in falsely-claimed benefits.
Michelle Webster, aged 37, was prosecuted for claiming for handouts as a single person while living with an employed partner.
She was paid £46,677 in income support, council tax benefit and housing benefit between 2007 and October last year.
Webster, of Duke Street, Creswell, was given a two-year community order and ordered to repay the cash she was overpaid after pleading guilty at an earlier hearing at Nottingham Crown Court.
She was prosecuted by Bolsover District Council’s work and pensions department.
The council is now appealing for anyone who knows someone committing benefit fraud to contact the council on 01246 242444.
