A COUNCIL payments service being operated at neighbourhood offices is to cease at the end of the month.
Barnsley Council has warned that people will no longer be able to make payments of rent or council tax at its Barnsley Connects offices after Tuesday, May 31.
A spokesman said: “We would like to reassure its customers that all Barnsley Connects offices will continue to provide a full information and enquiry service across the borough once local offices cease accepting payments.
“Customers will need to choose an alternative payment method to pay for numerous council services including housing rent and council tax.”
Alternative methods available include direct debit, online payments, using Allpay cards and automated telephone payments.
