LOOKING for an unusual gift? Look no further than the Emporium of Curiosities...

Homelessness charity Emmaus Sheffield already runs a secondhand shop and furniture store from its base in Sipelia Works in Cadman Street near the canal basin.

Now shop manager Charley Holman has launched a new retail venture aimed at tempting the shopper with an eye for the unusual as well as a nose for a bargain.

“Our Emporium of Curiosities is full of things you might not find in any other charity shop - from vintage woodworking and carpentry tools to old cameras,” Charley said.

“Recently we had a supply of old chemistry lab equipment - Bunsen burner stands, glass bottles and phials, which sold extremely well. And we often have a great range of books dating to the 19th century.”
