Here’s one green bottle sitting on a wall in Woodseats man Paul Briggs’ garden.

Paul, aged 36, unearthed the bottle in his garden on Smithywood Crescent and now he’d like to know more about his find.

The bottle, which still has the cork in place, is embossed with the words ‘E Donoghue Wine & Spirit Merchant Division St and Bramall Lane Cricket Ground’.

Paul said: “I have tried to do a bit of research and if I am right it would appear to be dated to around 1890, when E Donoghue had The Frog and Parrot pub on Division Street.

“It’s only a bit of fun but it would be interesting to know a bit more about it.”
