Passengers seriously hurt in collision on city street

A man and woman were seriously injured after a two-car collision in Sheffield.

The 24-year-old man and 38-year-old woman were passengers in a Volkswagen Golf which collided with a Ford Fiesta turning right in front of it.

Police officers investigating the collision on Carlisle Street East, Burngreave, at 10.3am on Saturday said the Golf was attempting to overtake the Fiesta.

The Golf driver, a 32-year-old Sheffield man, sustained minor injuries, but his male passenger suffered serious injures including a broken arm and the female passenger suffered serious head and back injuries.
