HOMES in Sheffield are turning into ‘gadget graveyards’, an energy company has warned.
New research from company E.ON found that 74 per cent of city residents are hoarding outdated electrical items, including mobile phones, video recorders and cameras. Despite no longer using the gadgets, 28 per cent of those surveyed still keep them plugged in, wasting energy.
Emma Bradshaw, of E.ON, said: “We recommend that people have a good look through their unwanted gadgets and decide if they really want and need them. If people don’t want to keep their discarded technology, they can donate the items to some charities.”
