A RIGHT old sing-song was enjoyed by one and all at a bash to mark the 102nd birthday of Emily Street.
Staff at Knowle Hill Care Home in Halfway, Sheffield, brought in entertainer Johnny Alone to make the party go with a swing, and he soon had Emily’s toes tapping.
Earlier in the day the centenarian enjoyed a visit from the Lord Mayor Coun Alan Law and her daughter Connie.
Emily has been a resident at Knowle Hill only since last October – before that she looked after herself at her home in Frecheville.
“She is quite a jolly lady and enjoys a good laugh,” said care assistant Steph Wise.
“Emily is our second oldest resident and enjoys visits from her family.
“As well as Connie she has a granddaughter and two grandsons.
Steph said: “We all enjoyed a lovely day to mark her birthday, the music had everyone singing along and dancing – although Emily just tapped her feet – and we finished off with a buffet tea.”
