Parkway fire causes smoke to billow over Sheffield
Rubbish was on fire near Sheffield Parkway last night.
Authorities were called to the scene at 8.48pm to find a large amount of rubbish ablaze on land adjacent to the Holiday Inn Sheffield.
Two pumps from the Sheffield Central station used water and foam to bring the fire under control.
A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said more than 30 calls for help were received from concerned members of the public.
