Martin Dawes letter headlined Is this a scam? Call it whatever you wish, the confusion in signs is a ploy to extract money from the public.

My fine on July 9,stated the university had suspended parking on Favell Road because of an open day.

I am a student and believe it to be unlawful to deny me the opportunity to study by closing the road.

My appeal was a success and I am over the moon that the adjudicator agreed there was no offence.

However I would like my e mail printed so that anyone fined on Favell Road, July 9, Open Day at Sheffield University 2013 can fight their case on the grounds there was insufficient warning and their fines should be returned. The suspension sign was clearly not visible, should they need any help they can contact me via The Star
