DELEGATES from across Europe are heading to South Yorkshire for a conference about rubbish.
The event, at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Catcliffe, Rotherham, will discuss use of state-of-the-art thermal treatment and other waste treatment techniques to prevent millions of tonnes of rubbish being sent to landfill.
The one-day seminar will be held on Tuesday and has been organised by WasteKit, a European consortium set up to transfer best practise throughout Europe on thermal treatment, recycling and recovery of waste.
WasteKit is made up of 19 organisations from Italy, the Netherlands, Bulgaria and the UK. British groups involved include Yorwaste, Yorkshire Forward, University of Sheffield and University of Leeds.
