PLANS to refurbish paddling pools and provide new ‘water play’ equipment in a Sheffield park have received the ‘thumbs-up’ from the public.
Sheffield Council put the proposals for Rivelin Valley Park on display at the park’s cafe and Hillsborough Library and received 131 comments.
Responses include ‘Brilliant idea – just what’s missing’ and ‘lots of variety, clean and safe fun’.
Some concerns raised, however, urging them to include additional seating for parents and carers, more litter bins and car parking.
The suggestions have been fed back to the designers to see how the concerns can be addressed as the final details are developed.
Coun Leigh Bramall, council cabinet member for environment and transport, said: “We were pleased with the overwhelming support for the proposals.”
