A WOMAN who took cannabis to a patient in a mental health unit told police she was “just helping a friend”, a court heard.
Staff suspected hand-rolled cigarettes brought to Yvette Sinclair in Hartington unit, Chesterfield Royal Hospital, contained the drug.
They called police who searched Gillian Mosley, aged 52, and seized 28 cannabis cigarettes and a tin containing two bags of the drug.
Rosemary Lake, prosecuting, told town magistrates another 18 cannabis cigarettes were found at Mosley’s home.
“She said she couldn’t understand what was wrong. She was just helping a friend out,” added Mrs Lake.
Mosley, of Rouse Street, Pilsley, admitted possessing and supplying cannabis. Magistrates ordered probation service reports and committed her to be sentenced at crown court later this month.
