Paint job for club

A LOCAL rugby club has enjoyed an amazing conversion - after being given a fresh lick of paint.

Thorne Rugby Club has unveiled its new look following a clean-up after flooding caused damage to the outfit’s Church Balk stadium.

The club received a donation from Doncaster’s Dulux Decorator Centres after flooding in 2007 ruined interiors, causing £45,000 of damage.

A team of enthusiastic volunteers used the club colours of royal blue, black and white to decorate over a period of four weeks.

The club’s Ann Pennington said: “We are so grateful to Dulux because our club was crying out for a revamp.”

“We’re so pleased it now looks fantastic for the future.”
