Fundraising evenings hosted by Owlerton greyhound stadium in Sheffield raised thousands of pounds for local charities.
St Wilfrid’s Centre, a charity which supports the homeless was given £3,300 which will go towards its £1.8 million residential development.
Ella’s Fund, a charity for children with brain tumours and cancer, raised £4,765 at a separate event.
At the St Wilfrid’s bash, guests were treated to a three-course meal and four hours of live racing.
A raffle and auction were also held, which included prizes such as lunch with Hollywood actor Dominic West and Chesterfield season tickets.
Deb Leonard, who is development manager at St Wilfrid’s Centre, said they were delighted with the turnout and it had been a ‘fantastic’ evening.
