I AM aware some exaggerate their incapacity, however, to suggest, as in a recent letter, that ‘so many appeals are won’ is far fetched.
I know many people who are genuine. I know a lady who worked all her life as a nurse, paid taxes and insurance then was struck down with depression. She asks for help but had to go through the process of claiming, which is the last thing she needs. But first she has to prove she is ill. After filling in forms and medical tests, she’s told she is fit for work.
If your consultant says you are unfit, your doctor says the same. And remember, these are professionals but the DWP can ride above their judgement, so why bother seeing doctors at all?
