A woman was seriously injured in a collision in Sheffield after a car mounted a pavement and pinned her against a wall.
The 33-year-old was walking along Chesterfield Road, Woodseats, when a grey Peugeot 207, travelling towards the city centre, mounted the kerb and struck the woman.
Emergency services were alerted to the collision at 6pm on Monday, leading to the closure of the road while paramedics treated the casualty and inquiries were carried out.
Police officers investigating the incident want to hear from witnesses.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “The car, which was travelling towards the city centre, mounted the kerb and pinned the woman against a stone wall for a short time before it came to rest.
“The woman was taken to hospital for treatment for leg injuries.
“She remains in hospital in a serious condition.”
