LITTLE Darius Woodward can look forward to a lifetime of being spoiled rotten.
The tiny tot was born at 6.42am yesterday at Sheffield’s Jessop Wing maternity hospital, weighing a healthy 8lb 1oz.
Darius’s birthday won’t come round again for another four years, but his proud dad John, 37, is in no mood for holding back.
“We will celebrate his birthday on February 28, February 29, and March 1 - he will have three birthday parties!” he said.
“We are really proud - it’s a very special day to be born.”
Loving mother Rachel Ramsden, 36, will now have five children - Stefan, 19, Loretta, 18, Raquel, 16, and Ronan, six - living with her and John in their home on Longley Avenue West, Shirecliffe.
And there will be more celebrations later this year, as John plans to propose to Rachel.
“We are going to get engaged on top of the Eiffel Tower just before Christmas, and then a wedding in Whitby,” he said.
New mum Stacey Clarke, 22, is also celebrating the birth of a special Leap Year baby.
Her daughter Marney arrived at 5.11am, weighing in at 7lb exactly.
“It was a bit of a shock,” said Stacey, from Firth Park, already mum to two-year-old Riley.
“She wasn’t due until March 14, so we didn’t expect her to arrive today, of all days.
“It’s quite unusual - I’ve never met anyone born on a leap year.
“She won’t have another birthday until 2016, but we’ll celebrate on the 28th until then.”
