Our campaign will continue

I'M thankful that Woodhouse Mill recreational field is put forward in application to Fields In Trust, but find comments by council leader Paul Scriven somewhat contradictory to their stance throughout our campaign.

Since Labour first put the proposals to our community back in 2003/4, we had consultations until 2005 when it was agreed with their representatives that an alternative route would be sought.

We thought the issue was resolved but in 2009 the Lib Dems changed the route from anything that we had discussed to the one we have campaigned against ever since.

This same council now says they are the saviours of our field and that they have somehow supported saving our green spaces all along.

If this were so then why did we feel the need to campaign against the very same council since they came to power?

Until the field is in trust our campaign stays active as trust in what politicians say and do is at an all time low.
