STAFF at Specsavers at Crystal Peaks raised £120 for charity by holding a cake sale and dress down day.

They have donated the cash to the Little Sparklers Group, which is run by Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind and is a club for pre-school children with visual impairments.

The club meets every Wednesday morning at the charity’s Mappin Street Centre.

Joanne Ardern, from the charity, said: “We are very grateful to the staff at Specsavers at Crystal Peaks for supporting us.

“The group is proving a huge success and has several members making the most of the service which is tailored to the children and their specific requirements.

“They can play with sensory and stimulating toys and the group arranges trips to other appropriate services like hydrotherapy pool sessions.”

Gil Vasey, director of Specsavers at Crystal Peaks, said: “We are a very community-focused practice and I am delighted my staff have supported such a worthwhile cause.

“I hope our donation can make a difference to Little Sparklers.”
