We are only weeks from what has been described as the most intrusive census ever.
On March 27 we will have to account for anyone who spends that night at our homes and their personal details.
People will also have to give any address where they spend more than 30 nights in a year. Anyone not answering could be fined £1,000. When in opposition, government ministers criticised the ‘snooper census’, but once in power failed to do anything. They should make it clear that anyone safeguarding their privacy will face no charges.
