Have your say

It’s amazing what can be achieved when you work together.

Last month we challenged our readers to help raise £25,000 as part of The Children’s Hospital Charity’s Make it Better appeal.

Today we revealed that the caring people of South Yorkshire didn’t just help reach the target for the day – they smashed right through it, raising more than £48,000 with more cash still pouring in.

What a generous lot you are.

It’s incredibly heart-warming that even when times are tough people can still spare some dosh to help others.

Your fundraising efforts will help transform Sheffield Children’s Hospital with the addition of single occupancy rooms that will make a huge difference to poorly children and their parents.

But there’s more to be done. Thanks to the efforts of hundreds of dedicated fundraisers, the charity has already received £3 million in donations, but £10 million is needed regionally by 2016 to fund the extension.

We’ve made a great start but it’s time to dig a little deeper. So whether you did or didn’t partake this year, let’s all pledge to join together for next year’s Make it Better Day – June 26, make a note.
