OPINION: Come and tweet us

Have your say

Of course you can ignore Twitter - but why would you want to?
If you’re in business it’s an instant, free way to contact your customers.

And while some organisations simply use it as a blunt, and very dull, advertising tool (step forward Sir Alan Sugar @Lord_Sugar) it has vastly more going on than that.

That’s why we have launched #StarBizHour on your favourite social media site.

Starting tonight at 7.30pm, we aim to create an unmissable 60 minutes of interaction that showcase how Twitter and The Star are perfect partners.

We’ll be talking about the day’s business news, breaking stories as they come in and previewing the content of Wednesday’s business supplements.

But, just as importantly, we’ll be urging you to comment. Tell us what you like about our coverage and what you’d like to see more of, whether it is company profiles, features or opinions.

We want to make sure businesses are getting what they want this year and this is your chance to tell us.

Ask a question, start a debate, request or give advice and tell us about events.

We want to know if you have won business through Twitter and the best way to do it.

#StarBizHour is the place to find out.

And if you’ve always wanted want to know how to get your company into the newspaper - just ask!

In future we plan to bring in experts to answer you business questions.

In the meantime don’t hesitate to take the opportunity to promote your company – all welcome.

And there is a prize for quality.

The best comments will be retweeted throughout the hour on The Star’s account @SheffieldStar to our growing army of more than 30,000 followers.

And some will be used as the basis for articles in future editions of the newspaper.

Debate, feedback, networking, shared knowledge, events and news - what’s not to like?

Join the conversation! See you at 7.30pm #StarBizHour.
