A HOST of gardens across Swinton will be opened up to the public later this month to raise money for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
The event has been organised by green-fingered Marilyn Tinsley who first came up with the idea six years ago. Since then she and her friends have raised more than £20,000 for the North Anston-based hospice.
Over the weekend of June 25 and 26, a host of local gardens around Brookfield Avenue will be open.
Highlights include a large koi fish pond and a traditional cottage garden, as well as plants, flowers, and vegetables of all varieties.
Refreshments will be available and there will also be a raffle.
Tickets cost £2.50 with children admitted free. Call Marilyn on 01709 587932 to buy.
