ORGANISERS of a celebration of Sheffield’s architecture and culture are appealing for volunteers to make the event a success.
Sheffield Civic Trust has issued a plea to the owners of interesting buildings and spaces to open them up to the public as part of its Heritage Open Days scheme.
The organisation is keen to enlist untapped areas of the city and recruit a mix of historic structures and buildings from the 20th and 21st centuries.
Sheffield’s event will take place from September 13 to 15, to coincide with the National Heritage Open Days.
Keith Hayman, of Sheffield Civic Trust, said: “We are looking to encourage a wide spread of owners and organisations from across the city, to open their buildings and spaces to the public over that weekend. The Trust is especially keen to see areas of the city not usually involved in this sort of event represented, as well as buildings not normally open.”
