One of Doncaster's oldest residents has died at the age of 101.

Marjorie Telford, known as Madge, died at her home last week.

Mrs Telford was described in an obituary as the "beloved wife of the late Lawrence, mother to David and wife Joan."

She was also a "much-loved" grandma to Kate and Sarah and great grandma to Charlotte.

It added that Mrs Telford, who died on July 4, will be "sadly missed by all her family and friends."

In January last year, Mrs Telford of Barnby Dun marked her 100th birthday with a get-together with her family.

She was joined by son David, granddaughters Kate and Sarah and great granddaughter Charlotte.

The funeral service will take place at St Peter's and St Paul's Church, Barnby Dun on July 21 at 11am followed by internment at Campsall Cemetery.
