FACILITIES at the world’s oldest football ground have been brought bang up to date with the opening of a new club house.
Hallam FC’s 1860 Club House has been created as part of a major refurbishment of the Sandygate ground.
David Slater, club chairman, said: “The suite was funded by a legacy from supporter Roger Bell, who passed away in 2011.
“It is part of a £500,000 ground redevelopment that will ensure the future of the club. The 1860 suite caters for up to 80 people and the club will hold events, including weddings and funerals.”
The 1860 Club House, named after the year the ground was established, was opened by Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.
