Old iron gas pipes to be replaced in Barnsley

A three-week project to replace aging gas pipes in Worsborough Bridge, Barnsley, is underway.

National Grid engineers will be renewing 600 metres of pipes in High Street, Worsborough Broadway and Bank End.

The existing iron mains will be replaced with tough, plastic pipes that will last for at least 80 years.

Temporary three-way traffic lights will be in place at the junction of Bank End and High Street.
