I was fortunate to be in the audience for Handsworth & Hallam Theatre Company’s production of Aladdin at the Montgomery Theatre.
This started with an impressive opening from villain Abanazar and kept to that excellent standard. I soon realised that this was going to be one of those special evenings when months of hard work and a talented and enthusiastic cast were wonderfully organised into a show that will be fondly recalled for a long while.
Dance routines, comedy, music, costumes and indeed every element of the show seemed inspired. But, above all, the sheer joy of cast and crew were wondrous. One of those times when you really wished you were part of the show rather than just cheering them on.
I look forward to seeing H&H match and even improve on this.
