OFFICE workers in South Yorkshire have blamed their colleagues for their inability to diet in a new study.
More than half of the desk-bound employees who took part in The Co-operative’s survey admitted to piling on the pounds since starting work in an office.
The average gain for people after the first year of their employment was around 10lbs.
And a massive 71 per cent - the highest regional percentage in the UK - pointed the finger at co-workers for bringing in too many cakes and treats.
Of those, 35 per cent said colleagues brought in unhealthy snacks to celebrate birthdays and other events.
On average, office workers in the region succumb to their first sweet snack by 10.17am, and continue to munch their way through the rest of the day.
