SUSPECTED drug dealers, shoplifters and motoring offenders have been arrested as part of a police crackdown in Chesterfield.
Officers are holding a ‘strike week’ in the town conducting extra patrols, traffic checks and drug searches.
A 38-year-old woman and three men aged 41, 29 and 35 were arrested on Foundry Road on suspicion of possession of and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
And three vehicles were seized on suspicion of being driven without insurance.
Officers working alongside staff at the Tesco Extra store at Lockoford Lane arrested two people on suspicion of shoplifting.
Temporary Sgt Simon Cartwright, of Derbyshire Police, said: “We ran this operation to target crime and to send a message that we won’t tolerate unacceptable behaviour.
“I encourage anyone with concerns about further crime or suspicious activity to contact us.”
