Police are appealing for help to find a dog that was taken from a van in Sheffield this morning.

Officers were called to reports of a vehicle theft from the car park at Abbeydale Park Sports Club on Abbeydale Road South, at 11.25am.

The van, which had the owner’s French bulldog inside, was seen driving away from the car park.

The vehicle, described as a silver Toyota Hiace panel van, was later recovered in Stradbroke Road, Sheffield, but owner’s pet is still missing.

The dog is described as being small but with large pointed ears and is black in colour.

He has white marks on the back of all of his paws and a white mark on his chest. He was wearing a grey and black harness when he was taken.

A 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
