YOUNG offenders from Rotherham have taken part in a project aimed at helping make their local community safer.
Teenagers spent the day laying flagstones in Wath Park, off Moor Road, Rotherham.
Jo Stanley, of voluntary organisation Remedi, said: “Young people take part in these projects as a way of reimbursing the community for their offences and are supervised at all times.
“We believe it is a great way for them to learn how to respect and engage with their surroundings and they often take something very positive away from the experience.
“We see it as an important step in their personal development and rehabilitation process.”
