Offender manager’s extra mile for Tina

NEWS: News.

NEWS: News.

A Sheffield rehabilitation staff member has been praised for going the extra mile to help an offender and his dog.

Sheffield Community Rehabilitation’s offender manager Hannah Beet visited an offender with mental health problems, and Tina, a long haired border collie cross in need of a visit to the groomer’s.

She then called Rivendown All Pets Grooming Services in Hoyland, which offered to groom Tina for free.

Hannah then had a whip-round in the office and raised £161 to take Tina to the vet’s.

Tina is now back home with her owner.

Hannah said: “As an offender manager we’re used to helping offenders in anyway we can, but this has been one of the more unusual things. This small thing has really motivated her owner into making a fresh start”.
