A PENSIONER taken to hospital after losing control of her car on a roundabout is still in hospital with serious back and chest injuries.
The 79-year-old, from Moorgate, Rotherham, was travelling along Warren Vale towards Swinton when she failed to negotiate a roundabout at the junction with Wentworth Road and her Vauxhall Corsa overturned onto its roof.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “The car collided with the roundabout, went into the air and landed on the far side of the roundabout. The car then continued forward under its own momentum before stopping on its roof in a hedgerow.”
The OAP is receiving treatment at the Northern General Hospital.
Witnesses to the incident or the moments leading up to it, including the manner of the pensioner’s driving, should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident 612 of November 22.
