STRAY horses are creating a headache for town councillors in Hatfield.
Members are calling for more action to be taken against the ponies accessing the Station Road recreation ground after they prevented the grass being cut by contractors, and sparked other complaints.
Hatfield Town Council wants to arrange a meeting with Doncaster Council and police officers to discuss the problem of illegal grazing.
They have also decided to make it a priority to create a ditch and bund around the site to prevent horses and caravans entering the recreation ground.
A letter is being sent to a resident who may be aware of ownership of the animals to request they be moved.
Police Community Support Officer Darren Hauton is also checking police powers on illegal grazing.
