One of our daughters has moved from North London to North Sheffield, with her husband and 20 month-old toddler, Otis. This has allowed us to discover an untamed part of Sheffield. (No Ron, I don’t mean Hillsborough Corner on a Friday night, but Wadsley Common).
We heard the cuckoo calling, a first for me this year, and Otis, toddling down a path, stopped to give his full attention to everything that interested him; goose grass and daisies, nettles (sharp!) and ants, horses and hens. No risk assessments. The path led to the Rose & Crown and a Farmer’s Blonde. Marvellous!
