Dozens of firefighters spent this morning tackling a blaze which broke out at a disused pub.

The blaze at the Park House public house in Pilsley Road, Danesmoor, was discovered at around 2.45am and when firefighters arrived the ground floor was engulfed in flames.

Crews from Clay Cross, Chesterfield, Alfreton and support staff from Staveley, Belper and Ripley were involved in the firefighting operation.

Police closed the road off while firefighters tackled the blaze.

Gas, water and electricity specialists were also called to the pub, which has been declared structurally unsound.
