AN ORGANISATION which manages most of the city’s sports and leisure venues has been shortlisted for a St John Ambulance first aid award.
Sheffield International Venues has been nomimated in the public sector and not-for-profit categories of the awards on Monday, November 19, in London. The awards will be presented by celebrities including survival expert Ray Mears, Dragons’ Den star Duncan Bannatyne, singer Michelle Heaton and TV presenter Matthew Wright.
A total of 15 out of 19 venues managed by SIV have life-saving heart attack equipment and staff are trained by 22 qualified trainers and assessors. Venues with a swimming pool employ at least one qualified trainer or assessor in first aid and they also hold a lifeguarding qualification.
