PATIENTS, NHS staff and members of the public in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire are being urged to nominate their unsung NHS hero in a national awards recognition scheme.
Anyone who works in the NHS can be nominated for the national NHS Heroes scheme, which was launched by Health Secretary Andrew Lansley at the beginning of July to coincide with the NHS’s 64th birthday.
Dr Ben Milton, chair of NHS North Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “Every day doctors, nurses, receptionists and cleaners behind the scenes work tirelessly to make a real difference to the lives of thousands of people needing care and support.
“The scheme is our chance to say thank you for the fantastic work they do and ensure they get the recognition they deserve.”
