Sheffield Council’s cabinet will remain unchanged for another year, The Star has learned.
All portfolio members are to stay in the positions they currently hold.
The only change made will be in title, to Coun Mazher Iqbal’s role of communities and inclusion.
Now it will become communities and public health as that service has been added to his portfolio.
The council’s first full meeting following the elections will take place tomorrow, and one item on the agenda is to appoint a leader, cabinet and cabinet advisors as well as shadow representatives from the opposition.
Last night a new leader for the Liberal Democrat party in Sheffield was also due to be chosen at the party’s annual general meeting.
Former leader Shaffaq Mohammed was ousted as he lost his bid to win a seat in Crookes and Crosspool at the local election, following a decade as a councillor in Broomhill.
Sheffield’s new Lord Mayor, Coun Peter Rippon, the 118th person to hold the title, is to be sworn in at a ceremony tomorrow morning.
