Creative folk sick of the love-fest that is Valentine’s Day can enjoy a mini festival at a Sheffield cafe and bookshop.
The Rude Shipyard is inviting both couples and singles to poke fun at the commercial side of February 14 with its unusual event.
It is to host a free weekend of live music, poetry, comedy and competitions.
On Saturday, February 15, there will be an open-mic poetry competition with prizes on offer, followed by stand-up and then an evening of live music.
Films by local movie-makers Rosie Etherington and Ian Nesbitt will be shown on the Sunday evening to round off the festival.
Real ale and homemade cake will be on sale during the festival.
