No great expectations for cricket in area

Have your say

I very much enjoyed Colin Drury’s article on Yorkshire Cricket at Bramhall Lane but whenever Yorkshire Cricket and Sheffield are mentioned together it makes my blood boil.

On several occasions over the past few years I have written to both the Star and Telegraph to bemoan the hijacking of Yorkshire Cricket by the powers that be at Headingley.

Yorkshire Cricket Club was born in Sheffield but I feel that it is very much now Leeds City Cricket Club. I am very sad that I no longer have any interest in the club. We have a beautiful ground at Abbeydale and it would do wonders for Yorkshire Cricket in this area if they were only to play a couple of games here during the season.

I live in hope but without a great deal of expectation.
