ARMED forces charities received a £9,000 funding boost after a Military Heroes night at the dogs.
Owlerton Stadium in Sheffield hosted the event in aid of the Army Benevolent Fund, which provides lifetime support to serving and retired soldiers and their families - and Help for Heroes, which supports injured troops.
Servicemen from around the region were invited.
As well as the greyhound races, visitors could view a static military display involving a weapon carrier and truck.
Funds were raised through collection buckets and a charity raffle and auction, which featured Army memorabilia including a framed escape map, a bottle of SAS wine, tickets to the Military Tattoo in Earls Court and a tandem skydive with the Red Devils.
