A SHEFFIELD man is to take part in a 500km charity bike ride from London to Paris to raise funds to fight cancer.
Nicholas Ward, aged 29, of Stocksbridge, will join cyclists from across the UK for the four day bike ride which finishes beneath the Eiffel Tower.
He is raising funds for the Institute for Cancer Research and is hoping to collect more than £1,500 for the charity.
The challenge starts at Crystal Palace in London.
Nicholas said he had chosen the charity because two of his aunts were supported by the organisation when they battled cancer.
He said one aunt, who is still being treated for breast cancer, was given a drug funded by the institute.
Nicholas, who also lost his grandfather to stomach cancer, said: “Charities need all the help they can get, and in doing this I am just doing my part to raise as much money as I can to improve the lives of not just my family but the lives of all cancer sufferers and their families.”
