South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has been ranked as one of the best performing NHS organisations in the country.
The recognition came from this year’s ‘patient-led assessments of the care environment’ - PLACE.
The assessment is carried out every year and looks at the quality of a patient’s environment, including privacy, dignity, food, cleanliness and general building maintenance.
South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides mental health, community and learning disability services throughout Barnsley and surrounding areas.
Alan Davis director of human resources and workforce development at the trust said, “The results of the survey are very positive. To be ranked amongst the best performing NHS Trusts in the country is recognition of the hard work and dedication of our staff.
“A positive experience of using services can have a huge impact on peoples’ lives and the environment that care is provided in can have a big impact on this. By using patient feedback, such as that in the PLACE assessment, we are able to see what we are doing well and where we can improve.”
