NHS complaints concern raised

Have your say

NHS regulators must have the power to ‘properly investigate’ complaints against doctors and nurses, a South Yorkshire MP was due to urge today.

John Healey, Labour MP for Wentworth and Dearne, was due to make the call during a House of Commons debate.

Mr Healey was speaking after helping constituents Andrea and Andy Duggan, of Goldthorpe, who have complaints against nurses and doctors over treatment given to their two-year-old son Vinny in his first few days.

Vinny has a combination of heart and lung problems, and brain damage thought to result from oxygen starvation.
