THE trust which runs Doncaster’s NHS hospitals is starting the search for its next governors.

Elections are being held in the spring and summer for two patient governors, two public governors for Doncaster, and two public governors for Bassetlaw constituency.

All will sit on the trust’s Board of Governors.

George Webb, public governor for Doncaster and vice chairman of the board of governors, said: “The governor’s role is an important one.

“We take the lead on holding the trust to account on behalf of our members and at times challenge the board of directors on the future direction of our trust.

“I enjoy the interaction with staff at all levels and networking with fellow governors from other trusts through the Foundation Trust Governors’ Association and also the Foundation Trust Network.”
